If there are no sure things in the sport of track and field then the closest thing to it would be that Sima Lucero is hard to beat in any given race. Her only sprinting loss of the season came in the form of an APS Quad #20 200m to arguably the best sprinter in New Mexico history, Adriana Tatum. Lucero 57.33 personal best is several meters ahead of the rest of the returning sprinters as Mikayla Evans will also return as the 5A state runner-up. Angela Korte has proven to be a contender as the 4th place finisher.
