Points Galore
The Hilltoppers from Los Alamos were unstoppable en route to yet another blue trophy. The day started with some points from freshmen Angelina Passalacqua taking the girls' long jump with a mark of 17-03 with Nyla Lee and Tia Hartzol also making the podium. In the triple jump, it would be ABQ Academy's Gigi Galles with the win but another handful of Hilltoppers on the podium. High Jump would be won by Bailey Yost who would be involved in a flurry of points on the day including runner-up finishes in the hurdles, 3rd place in the 200m and not to mention a part in the relays. Yost would tally a total of 23.5 points to be the 4A girls High Point Athlete.
Artesia comes up big with the throws
The Bulldogs received their fair share of hardware from shot put and javelin with freshman Lorin Wagner taking gold with a launch of 35-10.75 as teammates Shana Elkins and Nevaeh Hernandez would secure a top-three sweep. In the Javelin, Senior Ryleigh Greer would claim victory with a throw of 119-0 as teammate Koda Beltran would finish runner-up.
The running events would start on a mishap in the girls' 3200m with all runners finishing a lap shy of a full 8 laps. It would be Lovington junior Vanessa Gallegos taking the victory in that race with Sophomores Sophie Chadwick and Hailey McDowell filling out the top three.
Sadi Butler remains undefeated in 100m Hurdles
Sadi Butler's only regret is that she could not lock in four straight 100m hurdles victories but she will gladly add the 300m hurdles state title to her resume. Her hurdle form was on par when going up against a likely challenger in Bailey Yost and a youngster in Angelina Passalacqua.

Holly Sanchez & Nyla Lee trade-off wins in sprints along Los Alamos supporting cast
Earlier in the day, it was Holly Sanchez besting her teammate Nyla Lee in the 100m with a 12.67 to her 12.69. A few hours later it was Nyla turn on top of the podium and Holly right beside her. The pair would also be crucial to those 4x100m and 4x200m relay golds. While these two captured gold, the plethora of points scored by sprinters made the podium with freshman Meridith Brown finishing 4th in the 100m. Tia Hartzol claiming victory in the 400m and then a 4th in 200m as Bailey Yost would sneak into 3rd to ensure a 1-4 be the Hilltoppers in that event.

800m & 1600m take it down to the wire
The only sophomore of the field, Emma Montoya charged her way to a first individual title in 2:21.50 against some serious challenger in Aisha Ramone and Emma Patton. Not long after that performance we would see some red vs green action in the 1600m with Hailey Mcdowell finding her way to the finish first in 5:31 amongst Grace Archibeck and a pair of Emma's with Montoya and Patton.
Relays
Los Alamos was almost perfect on the day for the girls' relays except for a tightly contested battle in the 4x800m relay would see ABQ Academy pull away in the final stretch of the race to win the first-ever contested relay of its kind in this championships in 10:26.28. Artesia managed runner-up finishes in the 4x100m, 4x200m, 4x400m just behind the Hilltoppers to land some crucial points in the team standings.
