Distance Girls are proving to be a competitive battle to stay among the top ranks
Trying to stay on top of the distance girls' throne is proving to be a difficult one as this weekend experienced a major shift. Leah Futey who made her 800m season debut on Thursday at APS Quad #1 won with a 2:27. 38 which was good enough to land as the temporary top time in the state before Alamogordo's Ellary Battle would surpass that mark easily with her 2:23.76 run at Santa Teresa Invite. Likewise could be said with Tessa Holderman blowing the competition out of the water when she hit a 5:21 on Saturday to win APS Quad #3. To prove these events truly are topsy turvy early on, Laurynn Sisneros captured the top 3200m time after Leah Futey had set the mark two days prior who had also taken that spot away from Holderman. Still with us? The only certainty is that these events are just in the early stages of what could be quite an impressive turnout...
