Well if there was any uncertainty about whether the dynasty would continue you can put those worries to rest. Sue Cleveland wins their fourth straight 5A State Championship. Despite returning only one from that 2019 championship team, the Storm found success in patient up and comers waiting for their chance and even a talented transfer in Santa Fe Indian's Chris Humetewa. Ricky Rangel would be the leading man for Cleveland as he was just a pace or so behind the individual state champion Makua Harvey who came up big being the lone representative for Piedra Vista. Last year's individual champ, Jerrick Maldonado of Clovis finished 3rd while also going sub 16 minutes. Alamogordo's Aiden Jarvis and Rio Rancho's Cebastian Marquez took it down to the wire separated only by hundreds of seconds. The team battle would come down between the Storm and the Rams once again. Cebastian Marquez(5th) and Dawson Gunn(7th) were crucial for Rio Rancho but newcomers to the varsity rank like Jonathan Fragua(11th), and program regulars in Cody Toya(22nd) and Caden Nunn(23rd) were the keys to victory. Sue Cleveland would score 48 points to Rio Rancho's 60 as Eldorado would land the 3rd spot with 115 points.
