Adriana Tatum signs with Arizona State


One of the most decorated New Mexico track and field athletes in recent years has signed her letter of intent with Arizona State University. 

Adriana Tatum has been nearly unbeatable in her prep career coming off a stellar 2019 season that including a pair of individual state titles in the 100m and 200m as well as playing a part in the Matadors 5A title 4x100m and 4x200m relays. Tatum has won the New Mexico Gatorade athlete of the year twice and joins the likes of Haley Rizek (2017-18 & 2016-17, St. Pius X Catholic High School), Jennifer Ramirez (2015-16, Onate High School), Natasha Bernal (2014-15, La Cueva High School), and Lauren Martinez (2013-14, Eldorado High School as multiple winners. The state record holder in the girls 100m (11.69). finished her sophomore season undefeated in the regular-season competition and capped it off with a 1st place 200m finish at the Great Southwest Classic against some of the best high school sprinters in the country.  All of these feats came prior to a junior year cut short in 2020 by Covid-19 pandemic and yet still with plenty of time to add to her legacy in her senior season.
