NMAA Postpones Football and Soccer, other Sports Undecided

Following an announcement from New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, the New Mexico Activities Association has postponed all contact sports this fall with the hopes for a possible spring season. Although Football and Soccer will not be competed in this Fall, Cross Country as of now still has a chance of continuing a season.

The only fall sport that is outdoors, non-contact, does not use any equipment that requires to be shared and keeps relatively a distance between student-athletes during competition.

"Education based athletics are important part of the educational process. The NMAA will work tirelessly to ensure all students have the opportunity to participate in all sports and activities of their choosing during the 2020-2021 school year" - Sally Marquez, NMAA Executive Director.

The NMAA is working on having a tentative plan by July 15th.
