Foot Locker Nationals Winner Cole Hocker Chooses Oregon

He scored the biggest win of his career in December and then made his biggest career decision just a month later.

Indianapolis Cathedral (IN) High School senior Cole Hocker, who culminated his senior cross country season with a win at Foot Locker Nationals and a runner-up finish at Nike Cross Nationals, announced on Tuesday his commitment to the University of Oregon.

He chose the Ducks over Portland, Northern Arizona, and the University of Indiana, among others.

Hocker, who finished the fall as the No. 2 runner on the MileSplit50, lost just one race -- at NXN -- and was remarkably dominant throughout 2018, posting two races of 15-minutes flat at 5K and seven under 15:15. He won his first state championship in Indiana and individual titles at Nike Cross Midwest and Foot Locker Midwest.

As a junior, Hocker went 1:55.15 in the 800m, 4:08.04 in the 1600m and 9:06.47 in the 3200m.
