In what was a crazy last half mile Fischer was out-kicked by Flower Mounds' Jarrett Kirk. Fischer ultimately placed second at the NXN South Regional running 15:43.45. His speed rating from the region meet was a 191.

Much like Fischer, Cheeseman was only slightly off Flower Mounds Jarrett Kirk who was the winner of the NXN South Regional. His speed rating was a 190, but only four seconds separated the top five spots. Both Fischer and Cheeseman should show well at NXN with the experience they bring having been to the meet before.

Hicks won the Florida FHSAA Cross Country State Finals 5K running 15:16.78. His speed rating was a 188. His teammates took a fairly easy 1-3 sweep of the podium in the Class 2A boys race. Watch for them at the NXN Southeast region race this weekend.
