The Coronado Cougar Growls

Large School Girls

Well, we have to exercise the virtue of selectivity here. There's a lot we could talk about, but not a lot of space to say it in.

Harrison's 1:49.85 SMR8 sent a few eyebrows up to hairlines.

Liberty's Katelyn McMoore continued her high jump adventure with a 5-3. She's been doing the high jump for a while, mind you, but has found a new level of success--and consistency--this season. McMoore also won the 100H in 15.46.

Aaliyah Ricketts swept the horizontals with a 36-10 in the triple and a 17-4.25 in the long, both wind legal. Teammate Shynesti Johnson went 12.58 (-2.8) to win the 100 over a tough field.

Douglas County's Jasmyne Cooper, something of a new name on the scene, ran a blistering 56.87 to win the 400. Cooper is a senior in her first year of track at Douglas County High School, and is wasting no time tearing up the middle distance leader boards.

Kiran Green of Brighton posted a massive PR of 5:09.34 to win the 1600. Green's been a solid distance runner up to this time, but it's still worth noting when you whack nine seconds off your PR all at once.

Falcon's Hannah Perry had a jump-for-joy-and-hug-your-coach moment when she won the discus with a throw of 130-4. For context, Perry's previous best mark in the event was 114-11. The coach barely knew what hit him.

Speaking of throwing PRs, Liberty's Meg Tualamalii had one of her own. She pitched the cannon ball 38-10 to win the shot put and add nearly a full foot to her PR.
