Unlike the erratic weather conditions, the top two spots in Boys 6A went chalk, as the Volcano Vista Hawks and the Rio Rancho Rams finished 1st and 2nd. By a 27 point margin, the Hawks outdistanced both the Rams and the Manzano Monarchs 80-53-34 to claim the blue trophy.

Using a fairly balanced attacked, the Hawks saw eight of their 22 state entrants garner All-State honors in 11 of the 19 events. Led by Alejandro Goldston (Long Jump, 100m, 200m), Gabe Beyers (High Jump, Long Jump), Ian Ogilvie (110m Hurdles), Taran Robinson (100m, 200m), Parker Conaway (800m), Abram Schaap (200m, 400m), Matt Andrew (400m), and Jericho Cleveland (3200m), the Hawks soared around the track amassing point after point.
