Kelly Salas: Friday's Championship Day 1 was a test of courage for everyone in attendance, that's for sure. What began deceivingly as a comfortable day, ended with a total tally of four lightning delays and a final call at around 8pm to postpone the remaining events (Boys/Girls 200 Meters, Girls 3200 Meters, and Mile Relays), beginning Saturday morning at 8:30 am with the Girls 3200m. My understanding is that the 200 meters and mile relays will be re-seeded timed finals tomorrow, I assume at their regularly scheduled times.
Athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators were all faced with the challenge of enduring the wind, rain, and cold temps, especially toward the end of the meet.
