The Albuquerque Public Schools Metro Championships afforded teams with a perfect opportunity to showcase the best athletes from the Albuquerque area at the brand new Community Stadium. Thursday's events were staged at Wilson (Girls) and Milne (Boys) Stadiums, with all finals being held Friday evening at Community Stadium. Many of the state's individual leaders were in attendance to perform under the bright lights, and even more metro athletes were competing to prove they also belonged among the state's best. It was also a wonderful opportunity to see the best 4A, 5A, and 6A teams battle head-to-head and establish their relative strength during this championship season. The view from Community Stadium gave a beautiful view of the Sandia Mountains, which provided the perfect backdrop for the fireworks on the track and in the field.
