With only four days preparation after last week's Meet of Champions, some of the same New Mexico track and field athletes and their teammates were back at it once again. And for a week that might have been one of the toughest combinations of peak training and racing for many, there is light at the end of the tunnel, as the fast track toward the State meet begins. So with the weight of this season's premier event heavy on the horizon, Friday's 28th Ruidoso Invite was a welcome breath of fresh air before the wheels of the 2015 New Mexico State Championships are set in motion. A small but talented collection of teams made the trek up to Warrior territory, including Belen, Los Lunas, Valencia, Onate, Las Cruces High, Artesia, NMMI and Hondo, all with athletes ready to compete.
