It's time to join the rest of the country by lacing up the spikes and taking to the track. The indoor track that is, with banked turns.
For all interested in gaining a fitness gauge for these wintry months, the University of New Mexico Indoor facility is providing their annual opportunities, culminating with the Gardenschwartz Great Southwest Invite.
Beginning January 24 with the Duke City All-comers and continuing for the following two weeks, all are invited to run, sprint, hurdle, jump, put and vault. From a quick glance at the race entrants, the races look to be honest, and potentially fast. So if busting some wintry rust sounds appealing.
