With the Jamboree in the rear view mirror, we now are counting down the days until the state reconvenes in Rio Rancho for the Big Dance. Until then, we will pass the time getting to know this season's Senior Class.
As noted before, questionnaires were handed out at the Jamboree, or emailed to those who were not in attendance, and this is what we get. The Top 30 Seniors were determined from the 5K Rankings before the Jamboree, then adjusted after the Jamboree. If a kid was Top 30 before the race, they received a questionnare, if they raced themselves into the 30, then they were emailed a questionnarie after. With that, we continue our series with the Santa Fe Prep's Sarah Raboff.

What are your Goals for the 2014 XC Season? How are the progressing toward them?
Two weeks into the xc season, I thought I had a stress fracture. Therefore, I was in a boot until Tuesday, October 21st. After an MRI, I discovered I just have tendonitis in my left foot. My goals are to get back to where I was at the beginning of the season by state. I raced at Desert Academy on Friday the 24th and I was about a minute slower.
What does a typical week of training look like for you? Do you Cross Train? Mondays are tempo runs. Tuesdays are repeated hill workouts. Wednesdays are speed workouts. Thursdays we do track workouts at the Santa Fe High School track. Fridays are typically recovery runs and yoga. I love to swim and cycle as cross training. I did that almost everyday when I was out.
Describe your favorite workout and tell why it’s your favorite.
My favorite workout is a hill repeat workout.
How long have you been running and how did you get started?
I played soccer in elementary, middle, and high school. Junior year I switched to XC because I already ran on my own.
What is your favorite and toughest race so far?
I loved the race at Bosque this year. The toughest race was the race at Desert Academy on the 21st.
Describe your favorite XC memory. Last year at districts is my favorite memory. Our team won, and I won individually. Our team worked together and had great mindset.
Out of all your accomplishments, which one(s) stand out?
Winning Districts last year.
What is your favorite subject in school?
History
When you’re not running, what do you like to do?
I love to ski in the winter, swim, and hang out with my friends and family.
How have your Coaches influenced you?
My coaches always have told me to give everything I have because anyone can run for twenty minutes. My coaches, Tove Shere and Laura Lewallan, are both incredible athletes themselves. I am inspired to work my hardest because they do everyday. They truly care about each and every team member.
What are your plans after graduation?
I plan to go to college. I have been in the recruiting process with many division III schools for Track and XC.
