It was a busy weekend of track and field in New Mexico, and though we didn't get all of the results, we certainly got enough to start an interesting conversation. So, here we go...
This was likely the stiffest level of competition that southern New Mexico has seen yet this season. And the mark of the meet goes to Mark Haywood with a very speedy 21.58 200. A wind gauge would help to interpret that mark, but FAT timing gives it a credibility that a hand time could never offer.
Onate's Jennifer Ramirez cleaned up in the hurdles and is definitely on the state watch list for both 5A hurdle events. Yemisi Oroyinyin continues to produce good shot put marks, this time at 37-6.5.
