Haley Showalter Dominates Great Southwest Hammer

The competition was a bit on the side of sparse at today's Great Southwest women's hammer throw, but Haley Showalter showed up and bumped her #4 US throw mark to 166-4 on her fourth throw. The throw was also good enough to win the meet title by over 50 feet. While the Great Southwest experience did not produce any tension-filled moments where the order of finish teetered in the balance, it should serve well nevertheless as a tune-up for a couple of competitions down the road this summer.

In other results of Colorado interest, Addy Neibauer finished third in the women's decathlon. Alamosa's Sam Bilderbeck placed in the men's decathlon, but the exact details of that placing are not available at this time.
