Last weekend, the place to be for speed was Indianapolis, Indiana. This coming weekend, it will be Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Every year, the Great Southwest Classic brings some of the nation's best talent to Albuquerque. This year, however, might be a high-water mark for the tradition-deep event. Almost every event--and especially the shorter events--is brimming over with nationally-ranked talent. And registration hasn't yet closed. Expect a few more high-profile names to join the list of registrations over the next few days.

Many more figure to be joining the nation's top 25s coming out of this meet.
In addition to the ranked athletes listed above, look for a serious batallion of Utah distance athletes coming down for a visit as well--to include Jake Heslington, Conner Mantz, Andrew Brewer, Jordan Cross, Brayden McLelland, Summer Harper, Lucy Biles, and many more. Most of these athletes, however, do not have top 25 national rankings for this season due to running their races at altitude. They are among the nation's best nevertheless.
All events will be contested at the University of New Mexico track. The main session of events begins at 10:30 AM on Saturday, June 8, and lasts through the evening. Multis will be contested on Thursday and Friday. Hammer throw and steeplechase will be contested on Friday.
