  • Todd Hierlmaier
In support of preparations for optimal performances at Championship meets this track season and beyond, the USTFCCCA is sending the best to our backyard. Mike Young will lead instruction of the first Track & Field Technical Certification to be held in Albuquerque. The USTFCCCA distilled all event areas into a 15 hour course to be held at V. Sue Cleveland High School in Rio Rancho, February 17th and 18th.

    About Mike Young:
"Mike has been on 6 NCAA National Championship staffs and coached athletes to eleven school records, 54 All-Time Top Ten performances, and 24 Conference Championships. He has been a guest at all three U.S. Olympic Training Centers as an athlete (Lake Placid), sport scientist (Colorado Springs and Chula Vista), and coach (Colorado Springs). As a participant in this course last spring in Minnesota, I found the experience very rewarding. The Certification included concise instruction, and applicable cues for many of the event disciplines. Various examples given made sense for athletes on all levels: from new junior high athletes, to Olympians competing for podium positions. Come out and benefit in grounding your knowledge as you improve the process of coaching or training this season.
