Quinn Owen Commits To The University of Arkansas

Quinn Owen from Marcus High School is one of Texas' best middle-distance runners, and she has verbally committed to the University of Arkansas.

In 2016, Owen was the fourth-place finisher in the University Interscholastic Leauge 6A State Championships 800m dash. Just last year she was the 6A 1600m champion running 4:47.32. In that race, she beat Houston Lamar's Julia Heymach, who was the two-time defending 1600m state champion (2015-2016). Owen's time of 4:47.32 ranks fourth in the class of 2018 and seventh overall among athletes set to compete in the spring of 2018.

Owen will be following the path of other big-name Texas athletes in recent years like Devin Clark, Ashton EndsleyAbby Gray, and Owen's old Marcus teammates Maddy Reed and Payton Brown.

Joy Ripslinger from Davenport Assumption High School in Iowa and Lauren Gregory from Fort Collins, Colorado are two other big names who signed with the University of Arkansas in the Class of 2017.
